Etching and engraving on paper; platemark: 380 x 695 mm; total: 492 x 730 mm; vertical and horizontal folding creases, left margin cut to plate mark on the bottom section; repaired tears along the central vertical crease and on the left margin with tape on verso; some smudges and dirt along the margins; nice impression. Muller 3736.
The Treveszaal in The Hague [de Treveszaal in Den Haag], in the Binnenhof. This astonishingly beautiful room was originally erected for the negotiations during the Eighty Years' War. Nowadays it hosts the meetings of the Dutch Cabinet.
Titled below: 'TREVES-KAMER VAN HAAR HOOGMOG. DE STATEN GENERAAL DER VEREENIGDE NEDERLANDEN.' A legend with names referring to the letters in the plate. Signed at bottom, with the address of the publisher; 'M Terwesten, en G. v. Giessen del. / I.C. Philips fecit direx. / R. Boitet excud cum Privileg.'
Curious ghost print towards the bottom of the page, as the plate was folded to fit a publication.
