Etching and letterpress on paper; ca: 100 x 125 mm; mounted on cardboard, in good condition.
Two plates, respectively nrs. 3 and 47, from the book "Leerzaame zinnebeelden" by Adriaan Spinniker, firstly published in 1714 and later on in several other editions, with the same plates. The first of the two "Roesten doet roesten" shows a man sitting at the top of a rock, overlooking a landscape with mountains. The second "van hier naar de oorzaak" shows two figures in a meadow, walking beside a stream of water. Both plates are cut from the book with some text. The plates are signed at bottom left: "Vincent Vander Vinne." (from 1714).
